To earn the rank of Captain in the N.Z.R., one must demonstrate both knowledge of, and skill to perform repairs on, all major roofing systems. They must be able to assess, navigate, and complete complex solo rescue operations regardless of the situation. This requires extensive field experience vs. simple classroom knowledge.

From Accounting to the Apocalypse

My first profession was corporate accounting. I even have a degree in it. However, I used to do light construction in my youth and on the side of accounting. After several years jumping from trade to trade—ranging from ditch digging, framing, drywall, paint, and concrete work to even being an inspector for pile driving and welding, I decided to settle down with roofing. I left my accounting job and began my relationship with roofing in 2011. I made it official and got my roofing license in early 2017. I’ve been roofing the Denver area ever since then.

I left my accounting job because I wanted to get out of the office more. I wasn’t seeing the sun for months in the winter. I also wanted to help people really stick it to the evil insurance companies. What I’ve gotten out of this industry is the joy of helping people. When they thank me for stopping a leak, or they tell me how they had been saving to get this or that fixed because it had been neglected—but now their insurance company will pay for the repairs and they can use their own money for another needed project, I really feel helpful and fulfilled.

Dispatches from Rescued Civilians

★★★★★

"My mother had a leak in her roof that a prior roofer had failed to repair. Adam was systematic in finding the source of the leak... a pleasant and responsive communicator. His charge was too reasonable... Very happy to have chosen Adam/Zombie."

- Steve Connor, Cherry Hills Village

★★★★★

"Adam was great to work with and I would not hesitate to hire him again. He communicated very well, was punctual, and even sent before and after pictures of everything. He also cleaned up after himself too which seems minor, but is unfortunately not as common as you would think."

- Colin Henehan, Centennial

★★★★★

"Adam was quick to respond that day to a leak I had in my roof. He was very knowledgeable and his pricing was fair. I highly recommend zombie roofing!"

- Jon Hansen, Castle Pines Village
